The Lady Knights had some strong showings at the 2018 Terre Haute North Sectional to finish in 4th place out of 13 teams. The strongest showing was a 5.46 second victory in the 4×400 meter relay to end the track part of the competition. The relay team which consisted of Maggie Lackey, Jolee Kellett, Haley Howard, and Eden Siples took another 6 seconds off their personal best they set at conference last week to set a school record by 2.98 seconds.

Eden Siples was a big contributor for the team again, by not only anchoring the 4×400 relay to the school record, but picking up wins in the 200 meter and 400 meter races. She ran times of 26.57 and 1:01.18 in those races. Eden also finished 3rd place in the high jump by clearing 5 feet.

Maggie Lackey picked up a 7th place finish in the 100 running 13.43 as well as anchoring the girls 4×100 relay team to a 4th place finish with a personal best time of 53.15. She was joined on the 4×100 relay team by Adrienne Combs, Alysa Meyer, and Haley Howard.

Meyer jumped to a 7th place finish in the Long Jump with a best jump of 14 feet 5 inches. Adrienne Combs took 4th in the 300 hurdles with a personal best time of 50.44. Combs also took 5th place in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 17.48. Kellett took 7th place in the 400 with a time of 1:05.63. The 4×800 relay team ran a personal best time of 11:29.73 to take 5th place. That team consisted of Ginger Rayle, Ashley Roberts, Yahaira Martinez, and Madeline Sinders.

The top three individuals from the 4 sectionals feeding into our Regional automatically qualify for the next round, while the next 4 fastest times/furthest marks receive a callback to compete at Regionals.

Automatically qualifying for the Regional meet by finishing in the top three of an event are Eden Siples in the 400, 200, High Jump and the 4×400 relay team of Lackey, Kellett, Howard, and Siples. Siples scratched the 200 however and will not be competing at regionals in the event.

The 4×100 relay team of Combs, Meyer, Howard, and Lackey should also qualify by being one of the next 4 fastest relay teams out of the 4 sectionals that feed into regionals. Adrienne Combs should also qualify in the 300 hurdles as well.
