The girls track team had a lot of great performances last night but were unable to beat a very strong Terre Haute South Track team. The girls lost by a score of 32 points, but were competitive in every race.
Senior Eden Siples led the way for the Knights by winning her 3 solo events and anchoring the 1600 Relay to a season best time in a close loss to the South 1600 Relay team. Siples won the 200 (26.86), the 400 (1:02.75) and the High Jump with a jump of 4-10. Senior Jenny Lundy improved her shot put by around 4 feet, losing to one of the best throwers in the state of Indiana by 3 feet. Junior Adrienne Combs won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet 1 inch, and was followed by her freshman teammate Macie Timberman who jumped to a huge pr of 15 feet 1.25 inches. Combs also finished 2nd in the 300 hurdles (51.12), and 3rd in the 100 hurdles (16.08).
Freshman Rylie Vitz continued to show well in the sprints by winning the 100 (13.04), and finishing third in the 200 (27.755). Sophomore Maggie Lackey finished 2nd in the 200 (27.24) , which completed the Northview sweep of points in the 200. Freshman Evie Noel was also an event winner for the Knights by winning the 800 in a time of 2:31.36. Evie also took home second place in the 1600 with a time of 5:42.22.
Senior Rachel Bush took home points for third in the Discus with a throw of 82 feet 8 inches. Sophomore Jolee Kellett took third place in the 400 meters (1:06.33), and freshman Emma Dickison took third in the Pole Vault (6 feet, 6 inches)
The Knights return to action on Thursday night for Senior night against Sullivan.
