The Lady Knights excluding junior Eden Siples finished their season last night at the Bloomington North Regional. Siples will be making her third trip to the state finals next week held at Indiana University to compete in the 400 meter dash.
Siples earned a return trip to the state finals by winning the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.09. She held off conference foe Alyssa Milah by .67 seconds to capture her first regional title.
The girls 4×100 relay team of Adrienne Combs, Alysa Meyer, Haley Howard, and Maggie Lackey improved on their 10th place seeding by running .6 seconds faster than their personal best. They finished 6th place overall with a time of 52.55.
Adrienne Combs competed in the 300 hurdles and was just .02 seconds off her personal best. Combs finished in 13th with a time of 50.46 seconds.
The girls 4×400 relay team of Lackey, Jolee Kellett, Howard, and Siples came in seeded second with their school record performance at sectionals. The ladies bettered their school record by 2.37 seconds to finish 4th place in 4:10.03. They missed out on making it to the state meet by .85 seconds. The ladies chipped a total of 5.35 seconds off the 17 year old school record over the past two weeks.
The Girls State meet will be Friday, June 1st @ the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex, Indiana University, Bloomington
