The Northview Knights softball team fell to the Brown County Eagles in Tuesday’s WIC championship game 2-1 in 7 innings. It was another defensive battle between the teams as Brown County had only 5 hits and Northview only 2 hits. Northview’s pitcher, E. Jackman, threw an excellent game, striking out 7 and giving up the 5 hits. Of the five hits, only two were hit hard.
Not only did E. Jackman excel on the mound, E. Jackman went 1-3 at the plate, with a solo homerun RBI over the left field fence in the top of the 5th to tie the game 1-1. O. Notter followed E. Jackman that inning with a single (1-2 on the night); however, was left stranded at first base.
The Knights placed 2nd overall in the softball WIC. The Knights are hopeful to see Brown County again during post season play.
The Knights have 3 remaining games before Sectionals begin next week. The Knights face Terre Haute North on Wednesday (H), Rockville on Thursday (H), and North Central -Farmersburg on Friday (A).
Come out and support your Knights!
