Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track starts outdoor season off with a dominate performance against Clay City /Owen Valley / South Putnam

On Thursday night the Girls track team opened up their season with a home meet against Clay City, Owen Valley, and South Putnam. The Knights put together a strong performance and managed to win 12 of the 16 events contested, including all but one of the track races. The Knights were led by the following ladies who contributed multiple wins on the evening, senior Eden Siples in the 3200m Relay, 400, 1600m Relay, and the HJ, junior Adrienne Combs in both hurdle races and the long jump, freshman Rylie Vitz in the 100, 200 and the 400m relay, and freshman Evie Noel in the 3200m Relay, 800, and 1600.

Sophomore Maggie Lackey had a great night on the track as well as she finished runner up in the 100, and contributed to the win on both the 400m and 1600m relays. Freshman Raimey Vitz also had a great first race for the Knights as she finished in 3rd place for the 100, runner up in the 200, and was a member of the victorious 400m Relay. Sophomore Jolee Kellett was runner up to Siples in the 400, and a member of the 1600m Relay squad. Freshman Macie Timberman was on both the 400m and 1600m Relay squads and finished 4th in the Long Jump.

Hanna Dawson (9): 4th in 300m Hurdles
Abby Bailey (10): 5th in 3200
Sidney Linton (9): 3rd in 200

Overall it was a great meet and showed that the Knights Track Program has a bright future ahead.
