The Knights traveled to northern Indiana to compete in the New Prairie Invite. A dry creek bed with steep walls on both sides, an arduous hill, and tight corners all made this course challenging, but the girls came away with great times. The team was able to secure a 5th place finish in the AAA (big school) race against top competition.
Katie Morrison led the team with a 17th place finish in 20:09. Evie Noel (21st – 20:27.3) barely edged out teammate Maisie Eldridge (22nd – 20:27.7) as they battled all the way to the finish line. Briley Shillings (45th – 21:10), Halle Miller (84th – 22:08), Lindy Berry (112th – 23:05), and Yahaira Martinez (132nd – 23:51) all competed in the varsity race.
Delaney Trout led the rest of the team in the reserve race with a strong 53rd place finish in 23:22. Hannah Slater (29:35), Abby Bailey (30:46), and Brianna Langdon (31:58), all competed in the reserve race as well.
The Knights go to the Ted Fox Invite at Bedford North Lawrence next Saturday, competing in their final race before the WIC Championship.
