For the second year in a row the boys were competing at the Brown County Semi-State. This year the sights were set on upsetting some teams and qualifying for state. The top 6 teams qualify to race at LaVern Gibson for a state championship. Last year, all but freshman Stuart Bennett lined up to race semi-state and were easily the youngest team. Stuart worked his way into a varsity spot and joined 6 others with semi-state experience. The Knights were still one of the youngest teams at the Semi-State, but moved up greatly as a team. Last year’s team was 20th out of 20 teams.
Braden Norris lead the Knights this year with a personal record time of 16:44 in 36th place. Thomas Chapman ran a time of 16:59 in 48th place. Stuart Bennett ran a time of 17:13 in 70th. Corbin Butts ran a time of 17:21 in 81st. Carter Mullenix wrapped up the scoring for the Knights with a time of 17:46 in 110th. Senior Evan Hendrich ran his last race as a Knight with a time of 17:58 in 126th. Braeden Knerr ran a time of 18:25 in 153rd.
The Knights fell short of a state championship berth, but were at least in the hunt and wrapped up a great season.
