The Knights are returning to the Brown County Semi-State Championships for the second year in a row. Unlike last year, this year’s version of the Knights were expected to qualify for the semi-state and were able to come out with a semi-state berth.The Knights finished behind Bloomington South, Bloomington North, and Terre Haute North to capture the 4th out of 5 qualifying spots.
The Knights were led by Junior Braden Norris in 17th place with a personal record time of 16:45.84. He was followed closely by sophomore Thomas Chapman and Corbin Butts in 19th and 20th places with personal record times of 16:55.35 and 16:55.70 respectively. Freshman Stuart Bennett ran a personal record time of 17:06.71 to finish in 23rd place. Rounding out the scoring runners was sophomore Carter Mullenix in 47th with a time of 17:56.75. Sophomore Braeden Knerr wasn’t far behind in 51st with a personal best time of 18:04.78. Senior Evan Hendrich was battling sickness but managed to finish in 71st place with a time of 18:42.15.
The Knights are looking to finish much higher than their 20th place finish at semi-state last year.
