Today the Knights went to defend their 2018 WIC title and did so in a big way. We were able to place 6 boys in the top 15 of the race (All-Conference positions) on the way to winning by 73 points over the host Mustangs in second place.

Sophomore Stuart Bennett had an excellent second half of his race when he pulled away from the lead group of runners and finished as the individual Champion by running a time of 16:46.17. Thomas Chapman, Carter Mullenix, and Corbin Butts finished in 4th, 5th, and 6th, respectively running times of 17:03.29, 17:06.52, and 17:06.94. Senior Braden Norris, coming back from an injury was able to garner his third All-Conference accolade by finishing in 9th with a time of 17:42.38. Jared Parkey also earned All-Conference by finishing in 12th place with a time of 17:53.05. Braeden Knerr was the last varsity runner for the Knights and finished in 25th place overall with a time of 18:31.59.

In the JV race, the boys took the top 11 spots overall and ran extremely well to close out their seasons as the post-season only allows 7 runners to compete in a meet.

These boys have been committed to the program for all 4 years and have been instrumental leaders for our underclassmen. We wish them all the best of luck with their remaining time in high school and in their college endeavors.

The Knights will start post-season competition at Lavern Gibson on Saturday as they try to extend their sectional championship streak to three in a row against a couple of very strong teams in Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South.
